Next Tuesday we will be attending the Guelph technology Showcase (1.0), being held at the University of Guelph Science Complex Atrium.
As this event will be focused at a slightly younger audience than the majority of events which we attend, we thought it was a great opportunity to debut a new t-shirt (and giveaway some shwag).
I present to you the result of this, the 3 Goat Moon shirt.
3 Goat Moon, yes the 3 Goat Moon
We will be holding a draw to giveaway 2 of these T-shirts. If you want to get your hands on one be sure to drop by our booth to enter!
We may be there or we may be wandering around the Atrium but hay the new T-shirt will give us away, come up and say hi, we talk to anyone.
Ok yes, we have lapsed into a non-blogging mode likely due to absence of Dave, a past GG team member who was so good at this blogging stuff. We will attempt to live up to his blogging antics but those mathematicians are a hard lot to outwit! For those of you who are looking for Dave you can find him spewing his words of wit and wisdom at any of the following: Dave’s analytics venture , his blog , LinkedIn, or his work where we think he is ca-hoots with other U of Waterloo grads at this start-up in the San Francisco Bay area, they are everywhere!
A Davism I love — something like, ‘every day should have at least 3 rejections’ –
Oh and for a bit of post Christmas teeheeing (again) regarding our cousin the Gavle Goat … wait for it folks, and no it was not us.
EVENTS — likely more but right now we are involved with the Guelph Technology Economy Conference 2012 “Creative Collaborative Economy” so a shout out there — it is happening January 17 so GO REGISTER — very excited about Eagle’s Flight doing some top secret group activity in the pm.
And really keen about the Guelph Tech and Design first trade show event, Guelph Technology Showcase 1.0, held at the University of Guelph, Giant Goat will be an exhibitor. So REGISTER and come and see us, we talk to anyone, really .. we do.
There’s more, new in 2012 … Mike is now jogging and seems to be very happy with the Ease into 5K app, Justin is really mad at the new bus system in town (and so are his friends), Matt, well, we can’t find him right now and I am attempting to like using Facebook, let’s see where that goes.
Tomorrow night (Wednesday, September 14) there is the Guelph Web Maker Meetup at Symposium 7pm – Matt might get to this one.
DemoCampGuelph18 will be September 21st, a few of us usually show, it is across the street from our office — and we hear they need demos, if interested make sure you contact Brydon about that!! As usual it’s at the eBar start time 6:30, gets pretty crowded so if you want a seat get there early.
Ignite Waterloo 7 has started their speaker workshops to get you ready for this event, the first was on Tuesday September 6th at 7pm and the next on Wednesday October 5th at 7pm — the event date is still up in the air but I want to get to this one, its interactive, quick paced and if you get to speak good on you!
It’s over a month away but the Guelph Technology Forum starts this season on October 13 with a session on “Working with the University”
So the networking/meetup/demoing season begins .. let us know any good ones we have missed, we’d like to go!
The 9th annual Guelph Art on the Street event is less then a week away. On Saturday July the 16th from 10am-5pm Quebec street will be closed off, and lined with the 64 artists of various disciplines, from painters, potters, blacksmiths, jewelers, glass blowers, textile artists, photographers and much more. I was lucky enough to be selected to take part in the event this year, you will find me selling some older pieces, as well as a series I have been working on just for the show.
Trudy missed Guelph Web Makers Meetup for Accessibility Camp at U of G, which I think was a fair trade off (@seanyo, don’t make us choose) — I’ll see if she can get her notes online. And I missed DemoCamp Guelph while I was in San Francisco, toasting PostRank and arguing about Groupon.
I will be at Ignite Waterloo on Wednesday, this may be their first time not sellng out (it’s a bigger venue) so you can still pick up $5 tickets and heckle Kelly Brooks. Update: as of Wednesday, they were in fact sold out.
If you want to stay closer to home, Transition Guelph is having an orientation Wednesday, June 15, 7pm at 10 Carden ‘if you want to know more and are eager to share your vision of a more resilient, sustainable Guelph’.
