A definite highlight to the Communitech breakfast was the opportunity to shake hands with The Woz (http://www.woz.org/). Credited with helping to jump-start the personal computer industry by designing the first Apple computer with Steve Jobs, Steve “The Woz” Wozniak is down-to-earth and approachable, like a friend you’ve known forever. After the event he hung around with fans, chatted about old-time stories, and was interested to see what kinds of neat gadgets people were building in their spare time.
Wozniak was there along with David Flynn, the CTO of Fusion-io, which is a company dedicated to building high-speed Flash memory storage for servers (and eventually desktops). All in all it was an interesting morning and one I won’t soon forget.
